Elyse Sharp
Elyse Sharp is an actor, director, Shakespeare scholar, and playwright in Sacramento, CA. She is a recipient of Shakespeare Association of America’s Shakespeare Publics Award. She is the co-creator and co-producer of “Shakespeare Anyone?”, an Apple Top 50 Performing Arts Podcast that makes Shakespeare easier to understand by translating academic research into accessible and actionable knowledge for theatremakers, educators, and anyone looking to better understand Shakespeare. She has served as assistant director and dramaturg for productions of “Twelfth Night”, “Henry IV” (for which she also co-wrote the original adaptation of Parts 1 & 2), and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” with Shakespeare on the Vine Theatre Company (Artistic Director: Tara Kayton). She has been a guest lecturer on Shakespeare for colleges and high schools across California. As an actor, she has worked with B Street Theatre, Capital Stage, Pacific Repertory Theatre, and Shakespeare on the Vine Theatre Company.
