Frederick Mensch is an award-winning playwright and screenwriter who wrote the HBO film Nightingale, starring David Oyelowo, which earned two Primetime Emmy Award nominations and was hailed for its daring, intimate exploration of a fractured mind. His companion one-act play Father won the Tennessee Williams One-Act Playwriting Competition, while his noirish thriller Laura Louise, starring Corbin Bernsen, is currently in post-production. Frederick’s writing is defined by psychological depth, muscular dialogue, and a willingness to confront the darker corners of American identity. He lives and writes in Chicago.
