The Cherry Orchard

But her family is ridden with debt, and their home and beautiful cherry orchard will be auctioned off at the end of the summer. Lopákhin grew up on the estate, the child of former serfs, and has become a wealthy merchant. He suggests they build vacation homes where the orchard sits. The income would save them, but Liúbov and her brother won’t even consider it. They—like the cherry orchard—are a relic from another time: beautiful, but now fruitless. Summer comes to a close, and the Ranyévskayas must leave—with the sound of axes coming from the orchard.

I Love You Because: School Edition

I LOVE YOU BECAUSE is a charming, modern-day reimagining of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, set against the backdrop of bustling New York City. This witty and heartfelt musical follows an uptight, rule-bound greeting card writer whose world is upended when he meets a free-spirited photographer with a mind of her own. As their unlikely romance unfolds—mirroring the sparks and clashes of Austen’s beloved characters—they navigate love, misunderstandings, and the meddling of their delightfully eccentric friends and siblings.

With humor, heart, and a touch of Regency sensibility in a contemporary world, I LOVE YOU BECAUSE celebrates the idea that true love isn’t about perfection, but about embracing each other’s flaws—because of, not in spite of, them.

I LOVE YOU BECAUSE School Edition has been adapted from the original Off-Broadway production. The School Edition has been carefully edited, with additional director’s notes throughout, to make the show more producible for secondary school and college groups/performers. Song keys have been adjusted to sit more comfortably in the range of secondary school and college performers. In some cases, problematic language has been changed, while in others an alternate choice is offered at the discretion of the director.

Nate the Great

NATE THE GREAT is a funny, sweet, rollicking good time that celebrates art, friendship, creative thinking, and of course, pancakes.

Nate the Great, the world’s greatest boy detective awakes, hoping that this day will bring a new case. He gets a call from his good friend Annie alerting him that her new painting of her dog Fang is missing! He rushes over to her house to investigate. There he searches for clues and interviews her brother Harry who loves red paint and monsters. He also observes (and possibly tangoes) with Fang.

Having struck out at Annie’s house, Nate deduces that the painting must have been taken by Annie’s cat loving friend Rosamond; as she was the only other person with access to Annie’s masterpiece.

Upon arriving at Rosamond’s house, Nate learns that she has a case to solve as well. One of her four cats, Super Hex, is missing! Nate ultimately realizes that Rosamond could not have stolen the painting. For the first time in his career, he is…stumped. And worse yet, Mom is all out of pancakes.

To solve this case he is going to need to find some pancakes, learn to think new ways, and rely on the help of his friends. By the end he has opened up his mind to new possibilities, found Annie’s painting, found Rosamond’s cat, and maybe even solved the mystery of why music in a minor key makes us sad.
